Home Fur Good’s mission is to end the euthanasia of treatable, adoptable cats and dogs in Arizona through medical intervention and community awareness.

This year, we are celebrating 17 years of operation, and to date, we have rescued more than 8,000 cats and dogs!

Overall, adoptions have slowed as more animals are surrendered due to economic hardship. The rising cost of veterinary care is also a factor often cited by people seeking to surrender their pets. Consistent with our mission, Home Fur Good takes in many animals with treatable medical needs. We triage every rescue and raise funds to cover the cost of care.

Our cats and dogs are...

• Spayed or Neutered
• Vaccinated
• Dewormed
• Treated for fleas and ticks
• Microchipped
• Dogs are screened for tick-borne illnesses such as heartworm
• Cats are tested for FIV and FeLV.

Any additional medical needs—such as dental care, tumor removal, or heartworm treatment—are addressed before the animal is placed for adoption.

🍓 Strawberry Shortcake’s Miracle

Rescued from a severe hoarding situation, 2-year-old Strawberry Shortcake faced a life-threatening crisis the day after her spay surgery. Thanks to emergency blood transfusions and round-the-clock critical care funded by our supporters, Home Fur Good saved her life. Today, she is thriving in her forever home!

🐾 Walter’s Second Chance

After spending his life outdoors with an untreated, painful leg injury, Walter was surrendered to the county shelter. Home Fur Good stepped in, funding a full leg amputation by Dr. Kimmel and matching him with a dedicated foster home. Now healed, Walter was adopted by a wonderful family and spends his days playing with his new canine sibling!
